What

Designed by Fondazione De Agostini and the University of Turin, funded by Con i Bambini Impresa Sociale S.r.lFondazione De AgostiniFondazione Alberto e Franca Riva, and Fondazione Comunità Novarese, in a logic of combating educational poverty, compiti@casa provides support and accompaniment to distance learning for students who need support in learning humanities and scientific disciplines.

Why

The project was born in light of an educational emergency that was further aggravated by the health and social crisis following the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw millions of children interrupt their schooling, with still evident effects on learning and social inclusion processes. The difficulties related to distance learning and the increase in inequalities, particularly among children already at risk of social exclusion, make the compiti@casa project an important response to educational needs in neighborhoods affected by economic and social hardships, with the aim of combating cultural impoverishment and promoting access to learning opportunities even in the most vulnerable situations.

How

The study support activities are:

  • carried out remotely, in a dedicated digital learning environment, in a two-to-one ratio (two students/university tutor);
  • conducted by tutors, students of the University of Turin, University of Rome La Sapienza, University of Naples Federico II, and University of Messina, selected through a specific call and appropriately trained by the University of Turin.

The students are followed in their personal afternoon study at home for four hours a week, two for the humanities area, two for the scientific area.

Compiti@casa is a targeted educational action, able to relate to the individual potentials and difficulties of the students involved, through innovative teaching methodologies and digital tools, with young tutors, motivated and prepared.

Where

At home, using a digital platform for learning, designed and built specifically by the University of Turin, for synchronous video activities and for sharing interactive content.
