Promoted by the De Agostini Foundation in collaboration with the University of Turin, with the contribution of IGT and Riva Foundation the project "compiti@casa, curare la fragilità educativa" (i.e. “homework at home, to cure educational fragility”) intends to support girls and boys of lower secondary schools who need help in learning. This support is totally online, provided through the distance learning mode.
Tutors are selected among students attending the University of Turin through a specific call and are suitably trained by the University of Turin. They lead pupils in their studies, thanks to an integrated virtual learning environment.
Compiti@casa is a targeted educational action that focuses on students’ individual potentialities and difficulties through innovative methodologies and digital tools, and thanks to young, motivated, and qualified tutors. Schools, university students, and families of pupils are strictly related to reaching the project’s success.
Pupils are supported during their afternoon personal study at home for four hours a week by two tutors: two hours for humanities with one tutor, two hours for STEM disciplines with the other.
In the 2022-23 school year, the action is aimed at 300 sixth and seventh grade students from nine schools from multi-ethnic suburban neighborhoods of five cities:- I.C Adelaide Ristori, lower secondary school in Naples
- I.C. Bottacchi, lower secondary school in Novara
- I.C. Leonardo da Vinci - Frank, lower secondary school in Turin
